Awesome! Please let us know how you find it! I haven't tried it recently but hopefully the later batches have not changed much from the one I reviewed.

Re: Review: Mount Gilboa Rum

Certainly doesn't have that ethanol aroma or flavor that some poorly made commercially distilled young rums might have. As said in the review some tasters guessed it to be 12 years old. There is a little bit of spiciness associated with young rums.

Re: Sweet rum is good rum?

To revive this thread here is a list of rums and their sugar contents I've acquired from Alko in Finland. What I find particularily interesting is the changed sugar content in Ron Zacapa 23. The Swedish government still reports it being at 41 g/l. 1167334_540459949378741_1873349235_o.jpg For compari...

Re: Decanters, yes or no?

That is kind of like an hour glass shape! My tastes are usually towards the more classic style crystal decanters, however I don't really have any use for them on day to day basis, perhaps if I drank wine or if had to transfer the contents of a damaged bottle etc. Either way some of them can look qui...

Re: Pusser's

Are you drinking the 54.4% Pusser's? It is not uncommon to dilute higher ABV spirits down to about 40% so in this case the teaspoon would do the trick! I always try higher ABV spirits without water and then with a drop of water and see if it makes any difference to the flavours and aromas, it is an ...

Re: Rhum agricoles, any advices?

Overall I've found Clément Rhums to be very solid choices, I haven't tried the 10 yo but the VSOP, XO and Cuvee Homere are all excellent. Of HSE rhums I've tried the Single Malt Finish 2002 and I think the Single Cask 1998 and if I recall I found them both very interesting and well worth looking int...

I've received quite a few enquiries about what happened to the Rum Project but I don't know any more about it than anyone else. My email has also not been answered which I find quite weird. I wouldn't want to start speculating though, it could be anything. Nevertheless, welcome to the forums Dai, an...

Do you mean the orange label (Reserva) ? The green bottle is Reserva Exclusiva and the beige label is Añejo. But yes your comment now makes sense if you meant the orange label.

Re: Sweet rum is good rum?

Pampero 1938 to my understanding is different to the Aniversario, aged 5-6 years. The Aniversario is the premium version. I'm not sure which Havana Club Marchpig is referring to here as they all start with Añejo something. So we have Añejo Blanco, Añejo 3 Años, Añejo Especial and Añejo 7 Años etc...

In fact, almost every new rum that has been recently released seem tweaked to the point where it is so blatant the additives...
