Re: Introduce yourself.

Oh, dear... While making one of my, alas, too infrequent visits to the club, and after replying to a few excellent cigar threads, I retired to the drawing room for a dram of whisky and a spot of reading. While perusing the club's generous amount and variety of available periodicals, it came to my at...

Re: What do you use to light your cigar with?

While I prefer small, wooden kitchen matches (usually two-to-a-lighting), I've also found long, wooden fireplace matches to work well. With proper angling of the flame, they'll burn as long as necessary and you usually have enough of the matchstick left for multiple reuses. You can light a "virgin" ...

Re: My Personal Cigar Statement! Please Add Your Thoughts!!!

A most generous post, sir; in fact, it's descriptiveness compelled me to stop mid-read, light up and pour a dram of single malt. In my humble opinion, the most critical differences between 100% hand-rolled (mind you, many advertised "hand-rolled" cigars have, in fact, some machine work involved) and...

Re: Hello!

Belgium is quite famous for its beers, but I'm struggling to think if Belgium has a national spirit? None spring to mind, is it purely a beer culture? Baron, I'm not quite sure, as I'm an American and tend to stay mostly to my tastes (single malt scotch and quality beer), and have not really invest...

Re: Johnny Walker explained

had the second sample with one iceblock Ice in a malt whisky? Well, even in a blended malt it really shouldn't be done. A splash of water is all you should add to a Malt Whisky as it helps to 'unlock' some of the more complex flavours. Fair enough. I am not so experienced at this level. I am at thi...

Re: Hello!

Welcome to the forums Peetie! Pleasure to have you aboard . How is the whisky, cigar and rum market in Belgium? I'm afraid I posses a rather limited knowledge of rum variety/value. As far as cigars and whisk(e)y, the prices for Cubanos isn't completely outrageous (Spain enjoys the best pric...

Hello!

Greetings. I post often on the Modern Drunkard Magazine forums and am acquainted with Count Silvio from there. I've perused this site from time to time and have now joined up. I'm an American musician, living presently in Belgium (come try our beer). I enjoy single malt scotch (Islay malts -- especi...
