Re: Review: Mount Gilboa Rum
Awesome! Please let us know how you find it! I haven't tried it recently but hopefully the later batches have not changed much from the one I reviewed. Not bad for a four year old but, not the taste I was looking for. Don't get me wrong it's a nice rum smooth but it reminds me of a whisky more than...

Re: Sweet rum is good rum?
Based on my calculations for El Dorado it works out at 1 to 1.5 grams of sugar for the 15/12 year old per 35ml glass. Bottle of divided between measures. 1000 / 35 = 28.5 Added sugar to pours 45 / 28.5 = 1.5 grams (just over a quater of a teaspoon of sugar) 31 / 28.5 = 1 gram (quater of a teaspoon o...

Re: Sweet rum is good rum?
An intersting experiment was carried out by Guevara88 on the rumproject with adding sugar to sweeten rum. He came up with some very interesting findings. To know more check out his thread at the rumproject.

Re: Sweet rum is good rum?
Does g/l stand for gramms per litre?
One teaspoon = approximately 4 grams
According to the American Heart Association, women should limit their daily sugar consumption to 6 teaspoons (or 24 grams), and men should limit intake to no more than 9 teaspoons (or 36 grams

Re: What Happened To The Rumproject
Yep, strange that the man fell off planet earth. Most of the venting that went on was from Jimbo but, just took it Jimbo liked a good rant. As far as I was concerned I'd already agreed to disagree if it didn't fall within my thinking. Still I do miss the rumproject forum.

Rum Barrels
Are there any rum distillers besides Prichards who use non bourbon barrel's (fresh barrel's or first use barrel's)? It has occured to me that rum distilling's use of used bourbon barrel's is relatively recent last 50 years or so I could be wrong I'm not a history buff on rum. Going back 200 years ag...

I was on holiday when this happened but, when I got back the site had disappeared sent him one or two emails but nothing.
So your guess is as good as mine.

I too hope it is not health. Personally I can't see it being that Jimbo is being sued either.
Just seems strange the man would fall off the face of the earth like that.

Re: R. L. Seale's 10 Year Old
Since then I've bought a bottle of it and let me tell it's well worth the price. Very similar to Mount Gay in flavour profile. I did Matusalem GR15, Mount Gay XO, and Seale's 10 back to back on Saturday and the differences are there but they are not miles away from each other, all have a lot in comm...

R. L. Seale's 10 Year Old
I recently bought a sample of Seale's 10 year old to try out. Got to say I'm very impressed with it.
From the one sample I had I find the flavour profile very similar to Mount Gay XO.
Shall be getting a full bottle in my next purchase.

Re: Pusser's
Are you drinking the 54.4% Pusser's? It is not uncommon to dilute higher ABV spirits down to about 40% so in this case the teaspoon would do the trick! I always try higher ABV spirits without water and then with a drop of water and see if it makes any difference to the flavours and aromas, it is an...

Pusser's
Just bought my first bottle of Pusser's rum and I'm sitting here enjoying a glass. I've seen quite a few videos of Ralfy whisky reviews where he puts a tea spoon of water in to a whisky so thought I'd try it and it makes quite a difference to Pusser's which I was sitting on the fence about. Yes a lo...

Just an update on rum just ordered Pusser's and Matusalem 15 GR and a sample of Seales 10 year old to try. I'll let you know how I get on with the Seales never had that one before.

What Happened To The Rumproject
I used to be a member of the rum project I went on holiday in June and when I came back the site had vanished. Any one know what happened to it?
