Re: Review: Mount Gay Extra Old Rum

Thanks Jimbo, I think it is complex enough to keep one interested and I agree that it is one of the first rums one should buy and he is probably going to buy considering its price and global availability. Is it still 50 dollars in the states?

Review: Mount Gay Extra Old Rum

http://www.refinedvices.com/newsimages/rum/mountgayextraoldanglet.jpg The Mount Gay Estate is one of the oldest estates in the Caribbean, and definitely the oldest on Barbados. Many believe rum has been produced on the estate as early as 1663, which is the year William Sandiford bought the estate. ...

Oops! Sorry to hear that GeoD, I hate it when that happens! I'll see about switching the buttons around if it is possible.

Matusalem 15 is one of my favorite rums of all time, I look forward to hearing what you've got to say about it. Can't wait to try the 18 and the 23!

Rum worth thousands drank in one night!

Pub staff unwittingly drank Whitehaven rum possibly worth thousands. A vintage stoneware flagon of Jefferson’s Whitehaven rum which was unwittingly downed by workers at a Sheffield pub might have been worth thousands of pounds. The pub, The Bowery, belongs to Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders and...

Very nice explaination Capn Jimbo. How about some names of rums that are non-tweaked/unaltered/unmolested? As mentioned in another thread, anything from Richard Seale aka Foursquare Distillery is a safe bet. St. Nicholas Abbey and Bristol Spirits Classic Rums as well. Edit: +Rhum Agricole ie Clément.
