I've actually been meaning to write an article about this subject. There is no particular brand you should be looking as everyone has their own favorite brand. A recommendation for someone who has not been smoking cigars very often is a light coloured cigar. What does the color matter you ask? Light...

Quite so. I would hate to have other reviews affect my own. I do read reviews but only before I buy a rum and after my own review is finished. However if I remember some details about that review I read before buying the rum I may look if I find the same details in my rum but if it is not there then...

Thank you Rum Runner. I have to admit I am a bit disappointed in my experience though because it wasn't such a smooth experience most other reviewers have had. They had described it almost candylike which it was at times but none of the reviewers mention the strong floral tones and that had me consi...

Review: Angostura 1919

Read the full review of Angostura 1919 on the frontpage. This is a bottle that makes you think you're in for something really special. A uniquely numbered square bottle with rounded shoulders and a big black wooden cork that distinguishes it from a crowd of other bottles. The box itself, that Angos...

Interesting. In my hungover state I am unable to think of any "proper" questions but I'd like to know the official version of why they named their product 'El Dorado.' Is this meeting photographed or filmed by the way?

Cheers! I've just finished creating the whiskey section in history and production page. The articles are missing some images so if you guys just happen to have any good images of Highland/Speyside, Lowlands, Campbeltown and Islay I could use them in the articles. Edit: Awards are now in the reviews.

Your favourite rum

I don't see a reason why we can't have a favourites thread in the rum section as well if we have one in the whiskey section. With this thread I hope to conjure some discussion about various rums. Currently my favorite rum is El Dorado 15 year old. I like it because of the robust aromas and the compl...

There is no such thing yet but I am planning to add a link to the front page from here. I just need to figure out how its done (I have to edit this template to do that).

Edit: I'll try to add a home link tonight if I have time.

News: Remarkable cache of rare Jamaica Rum found

Original frontpage post Judging from the labels and bottles, these rums were bottled around 1900-1910, and had likely 20 to 30 years in cask prior to that. It's clear from the packaging that this was regarded as a superb quality rum even at the time it was bottled. This is an exceptional discovery ...

To give more range I've considered: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards. Platinum given only to the most exquisite of rums. Although I'm not sure if I should have one more lower category as some products don't deserve even bronze.
