WOW! That is a well-displayed collection. Mine...well, not so much. We're a tad short on space, so I basically took over part of a small shelf behind the TV. Some day soon the wife and I plan to put up a real bar/display cabinet, but we're short on room for now. http://www.robold.com/downloads/rums...

Dear Count. Firstly, I apologize for my horrid spelling and grammar. I have gone back and corrected my most blatant errors. If you find others please feel free to edit this into something legible. I find nothing wrong with your grammar and I am not the one to judge it anyway as English is not my fi...

This is bothersome to my current blogging style. Currently I: 1) Research the rum and try to find some interesting info about it, or the distillery, etc. 2) Taste and take notes. 3) Research some more, google around, read some forums. 4) Taste again and take some notes. Generally at this point I wi...

Very interesting cocktails, they sound like cocktails I have to make next summer! A few of them have ingredients I would have never even considered using. Is it possible to use Appleton Extra instead of the VX in some of the cocktails? I'm asking because the VX is not readily available here. Great p...

I believe my Ron Pampero Aniversario has a synthetic cork. I had to replace it with a real cork because the original cork left some small pieces on the bottle neck when I pulled it out. I had to scrape them out and carefully avoid not to drop them in the bottle. I am going to correct myself a littl...

I've pretty much included the sweetness, complexity and balance in 'flavor'. Aren't finish and aftertaste the same things?

Rating system

Help me create a rating system for my rum/whiskey reviews. I care about the bottle but it is not significant. I care about the aroma but it is not as important as the flavor which matters most. The aftertaste is perhaps a little more important than the aroma. I also take smoothness into consideratio...

Review: Ron Pampero Aniversario

Read the full review on the frontpage. The first thing that attracted me to this rum was its unique presentation. A squat bottle in a leather pouch. It immediately gave me the idea that this rum must be something special if the makers have taken the time to create such special packaging. Outside th...

Show off your rum collection

This is a thread where you can post pictures of your rum collection and make others jealous. http://www.refinedvices.com/images/boozelocker.jpg Here is my current collection. I had to move most of my other liquors into a cupboard to make room for my new rums. I also had to move my old VHS collection...

Ron Edmundo Dantes

Ron Edmundo Dantes Gran Reserva 25 Años. Has anyone been fortunate/unfortunate enough to have this rare and expensive cuban rum? Solved! New anti-spam protection.

I've installed a new anti-spam protection but I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a jam. You see everything else seems to be working properly except the new fancy advanced visual confirmation in the register form. If anyone of you have any solutions to this, please post them here. :migraine:

Your request has been accepted :pith:. I too fancy a glass of brandy every now and then. I considered making reviews about them once but I have to draw the line somewhere as there are enough moths flying out of my wallet already.
