Would it be presumptuous to ask if I may make a contribution to your forums with a little cocktail lore? I find it a most interesting topic of conversation. Not presumptuous at all m'lady. Infact I encourage you all to make contributions that you think would make an interesting topic of conversatio...

I believe my Ron Pampero Aniversario has a synthetic cork. I had to replace it with a real cork because the original cork left some small pieces on the bottle neck when I pulled it out. I had to scrape them out and carefully avoid not to drop them in the bottle. It appears my El Dorado 15 Year has a...

They used to sell Flor de Cana 12 year here but since then they have withdrawed it from the market. We have both Angostura 1919 and 1824 on sale over here and Brugal. I am not sure if it is the Extra Viejo or something else. I doub't we can get any of the above mentioned with less than $20 or even l...

Ahh ye olde flip. I remember reading about this from Wayne Curtis' and A Bottle of Rum book. Here is the recipe from the book: "Mix one cup beer (a stout like Guinness works best), two tablespoons of molasses, and one ounce Jamaican-style rum into a mug or tankard. Heat loggerhead to red hot in an o...

Re: A Post Scriptum

The exception here is in the rums. There are quite a number of excellent rums available a very low price. But since I am blessed by having several hundred rums on my shelf, I feel hard pressed to decide what to recommend. Tell me what is available in your localities. Several hundred?! My god, that ...

While I am not aware which brands are available over there I will recommend Cruzan Single Barrel Estate Rum which I believe is perfect for beginners. It is not too complex and does not require one to be a connoisseur to enjoy its simple yet magnificent flavor. At 40% ALC it is quite smooth as well. ...

I'm not sure if the cork gives wine any taste but I know it allows the wine to breathe which might affect the wine. However the breathing has no effect on stronger alcohol as far as I understand.

I try to keep the reviews as international as possible so I leave the price out. You are absolutely right about the price in our country, however. Some rums like the Zacapa Centenario are very well priced. Cheaper than in most european countries. :!: Edit: I still have not developed a ranking system...

Review: Havana Club 7 años

Read this review on the front page. The rum I am reviewing today is one of the first rums that introduced me to the world of rum and really made me appreciate it. The introduction happened at a cigar bar where the owner suggested rum, rather than whiskey, to be had with a cigar. I was intrigued by ...

I assure you it is necessary as rumsmuggler.com is sadly taken. Aficionado.com, connoisseur.com or (the)rumdiary.com would have been perfect if they weren't all registered. :(
