Re: What do you use to light your cigar with?

I found out about the kerosene and candles while sweating out the no-electric nights after hurricanes in the past.....ugh.

Burley, Bourbon & Corn Cob Pipes Means Sublimity

I have been drinking Bourbon and smoking pipes for some two or more decades. May I suggest to my fellow pipe smokers or those interested in trying out smoking some pipe tobacco to give the following a shot. I do not know why but the Corn Cob pipe seems to handle Burley type tobaccos the best and Bur...

Favorite Bundled Cigars.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/MJLittman/Tobacco/17f74fd6.jpg My summer 2008 haul of bundled cigars from my visit to JR Tobacco in North Carolina. I am lucky to live in Miami-Dade County. This place is cigar central for the United States. Good, high quality cigars made by folks who know the...

Re: Sancho Panza Double Maduro Lancero Review

I haven't smoked a Cuban made Sancho Panza since 2006 or so when I used up the rest of my pre-2004 stash. I have been effectively cut off from Cuban-made cigars since the embargo was reinterpreted in 2004. Not wanting to break the law or throw money away on fake Cuban cigars I find the Honduran made...

Re: What do you use to light your cigar with?

Interesting post. Although I agree the torch lighters are best I have used all sorts of things to light my stogies over the years. I am partial to making a match from the little sheets of Spanish Cedar you find in better boxes of cigars. These impart a very nice little start to the cigar. I have so ...

Sancho Panza Double Maduro Lancero Review

I have always liked the Sancho Panza brand cigars rolled in Cuba. They are well made from good tobacco and aim to please the mid-priced consumer. A number of years ago Sancho Panza cigars began to be rolled in Honduras for the USA market. Although these too were aimed at the modest priced market in ...

Re: Wild Turkey Rye

Welcome to the forums MJL! What proportions of lemon juice and ginger ale would you use with the rye and do you have any other serving recommendations? Does it mix with cola as well as the 8 year old does? Would you consider sipping the rye neat? Returning back to my previous post about Wild Turkey...

Re: Forty Creek 40

I was coming home from work the other day and making my rounds of liquor stores on the way home. I passed another little out of the way place and it was closed at 15:00. Well, there is the maƱana work ethic of Miami at work for ya. I drove by it again on Monday and it was open so I stepped in. Not m...

Re: Wild Turkey Rye

I really like Wild Turkey Rye Whiskey. This is technically a form of Bourbon whiskey (corn is the major grain, it is aged in new American oak barrels that have been charred, etc) but had rye added instead of wheat. Wheat Bourbons are sweeter. Rye Bourbons tend to have a spicy finish. Wild Turkey mak...
