You have nice rums there. Is that Admiral Nelson behind Mount Gay? What do those square bottles contain? They look interesting. The bottle behind the Mount Gay is Admiral Rodney from St. Lucia....the rum that started it all for me. The square bottles are my very precious treasures: my samples of Te...

I'd just like to say that I've been thoroughly enjoying this thread as I've slowly worked through it during the work-day (been a busy day today).
Lots of great information and ideas here. My wife and I are actually in the very early stages of trying to set up a rum tasting evening with some friends.

This isn't easy to do, because I know you *want* to blog, but try to review a rum a night, but don't put any up on the site. Review a rum, take notes. The next night, re-read and edit that review, and revie...

WOW! That is a well-displayed collection. Mine...well, not so much. We're a tad short on space, so I basically took over part of a small shelf behind the TV. Some day soon the wife and I plan to put up a real bar/display cabinet, but we're short on room for now. http://www.robold.com/downloads/rumsh...

One of my favorite light rums is Green Island, and should be available in the EU. We can't get it in the US. I picked up a taste for it while adventuring in Africa. My understanding is that the Starr Africa rum is the Green Island rum re-branded for the US market. Correct, but I haven't been able t...

In my personal opinion, the Appleton Estate V/X is an excellent starter rum. It's not a sipping rum, really, but it's a step above the more common mixers that you'll find out there. As any cocktail connoisseur will tell you, the better the ingredients, the better the cocktail. If you're looking for ...
